Susana Mendez is the textile artist who brings Susana Mendez – Textile Studio’s projects to life. She lives in a paradise called the Algarve, more precisely in Loul\u00e9. A place of pure inspiration for her work, with beautiful landscapes full of nature. Her education began in art and then graphic design, where she explored her first passion, illustration. Alongside design, she has always been involved in handicrafts, which she practised as a hobby, creating accessories and decorative pieces using yarn, fabric, embroidery, painting…
Susana Mendez – Textile Studio was born out of her passion for yarn and for creating and developing decorative projects, an area in which she is also fascinated. She has always found it easy to imagine and design pieces, and has developed various decorative projects on her own and in partnership with other craftspeople. She has been passionate about hand weaving and tapestry since she first picked up a loom and realised she could translate her illustrations through threads, colours and textures.<\/p>\n\n
It was in handweaving, tapestry and embroidery that she found her form of expression. She is currently very focussed on training, where she has the opportunity to share her passion and experience. <\/p>\n\n
