Born in Paderne, Isidoro Ramos grew up watching his mother and grandmother work on esparto grass, an art that has always fascinated him. He worked for years in telecommunications and, after pre-retirement, dedicated himself entirely to this craft. Although he started late, his dedication has already earned him participation as a master craftsman in courses and artistic residencies. He is one of the few who still harvests the native plant in the mountains of the Algarve interior and is an active advocate for the preservation and promotion of this art, constantly exploring new techniques and knowledge.
